Vermeer Colorado came from humble beginnings when Jon and Jeanetta Scott started the dealership more than 50 years ago. With prior experience in the equipment industry, the couple opened their own dealership – then, Empire Equipment Company – in February of 1968. They were selling John Deere’s green line of garden tractors when Vermeer Manufacturing, based in Pella, Iowa, approached them about selling its growing industrial product line later that year.
At the time, Vermeer products were new to the market and Jon played a big role in demonstrating equipment and building a reputation for the Vermeer name in his local Colorado territory. So much so that by 1972, he had dropped the John Deere line and picked up the name Vermeer Colorado Sales & Service, Inc.
Today, Vermeer Colorado proudly serves customers across Colorado and southeastern Wyoming with high-quality equipment and parts and service to match. With its home in Commerce City, the dealership has expanded to include three additional branch locations in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction and Fort Collins to better take care of customers. The Scott family still owns the dealership, with Jon and Jeanetta’s three children and grandchildren running the day-to-day operations.
When it comes to choosing a dealership for your industrial equipment needs – Vermeer Colorado is second to none. And that’s thanks to its people. Their employees are highly trained and carry long tenure, and it doesn’t take long to see how much they genuinely care about customers and their business. It comes as no surprise that the dealership has achieved top honors from Vermeer Corporation, earning the Pinnacle dealer status several years over. The dealership is proud to represent the Vermeer brand and help customers be Equipped to Do More.®
