The Vermeer ATLAS BORE PLANNER bore planning software system is your key to increased productivity. Designed to work with a wide range of locating systems, the patent-pending ATLAS BORE PLANNER software helps contractors, engineers, and utility companies get the job done right the first time. The ATLAS BORE PLANNER software increases boring accuracy by providing a graphic visualization of the job, helping a crew see and perform the job from start to finish.

By choosing drill stem diameter and length, desired bore path depth, desired minimum cover, diameter and allowable bend radius of the product pipe, the software plots a proposed bore path. The bore path is provided in two formats, one screen showing a top and side view, the other showing a report that lists the numerical depth and pitch of each drill stem.

Users are better able to generate more accurate bid proposals because the software allows simulation of multiple bores, calculates how much drill stem is needed, and gives an understanding of the difficulty of the job. • Generates a proposed rod-by-rod plan for the operator to follow.
• Topography, utilities and bore planning targets can easily be entered or moved.
• Helps prevent equipment or product damage by warning if the bore path plan exceeds the drill stem or product minimum bend radius.
• A planning phase warning if the bore path crosses too closely to a utility preventing utility strikes on the jobsite.
• Enter at least one target point and the software can automatically create an entry and exit point.
• English or metric units of measure.
• Eight languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish or Dutch.

ATLAS BORE PLANNER PRO VERSION

ATLAS BORE PLANNER PRO VERSION adds more functionality to the program with these features:

• Permits bore path data to be electronically down loaded from the remote during or after the job to create asbuilt maps.
• Allows users to compare the actual bore path to the planned bore path during the job.
• Links electronically to locating systems to load bore plan information directly to the locator remote.
• Links to DCI, McLaughlin and Radiodetection locator remotes.

This new generation of electronic bore planning greatly enhances user mobility, plan development and in-the-field planning.

For fast HDD calculations in the field, the FieldCalc™ System is the latest, easy-to-use bore-planning and mapping tool available from Vermeer. This software allows users to calculate setback distance, figure point-to-point bore paths, estimate pullback time and hole volumes and configure outside diameter of multiple ducts.

FieldCalc software is quick and easy to use, and runs on a handheld computer so operators can easily make calculations in the field while drilling. It is available as a complete package preloaded onto a COMPAQ iPAQ pocket PC or the software can be purchased separately through the Vermeer dealer network.

Terrain-Mapping System: Increase Topography Accuracy

The Terrain-Mapping System is a lightweight laser-ranging instrument that allows quick and accurate collection of job site data. Information can quickly and conveniently be uploaded to ATLAS BORE PLANNER software for a completely integrated job site approach.

A One-Person, Line-Of-Sight Operation, the Terrain-Mapping system uses a reflective laser to direct a beam to a stationary prism,
which reflects the beam back to the laser providing height and distance readings. The program can provide a range of distance up to
1200 feet (366 m) without moving the prism.
